My latest painting of an elephant herd trekking in the heat to the nearest waterhole.
I used a limited palette of red, orange, yellow and indigo.
I wanted to - as in all my paintings - create something that contains deep beauty.
Despite the contrasts in shape and colour and the disconnected seemingly isolated forms there is unity and a harmonious whole in the final painting. This might remind us of the possibility of creating beauty and a harmonious whole in our lives as well despite all the isolation and all the contrasts in our lives.
